Can Thinkr read my chats?
Not in Private mode. Your browser encrypts each message to the enclave, and Thinkr's proxy carries only ciphertext. In ZDR and Open, the provider of the model reads the chat to answer it, and Thinkr's proxy can read it in transit.
Private mode runs open-weight models inside a trusted execution environment (TEE). Before each chat, your browser verifies the remote attestation of the enclave, then encrypts each message to it with HPKE (RFC 9180), so only the enclave can open it.
In ZDR and Open, Thinkr's proxy can read the chat in transit and writes none of it to disk. With zero data retention, the provider promises by contract to keep nothing; in Open, it may keep the chat for a while.
If you turn on the backup, your browser encrypts it before it sends it, and Thinkr cannot decrypt it.
